Control Unleashed is a set of skills, a mindset, and way of living that promotes confidence, relaxation, and agency within our everyday lives with our dogs. You and your dog will equip yourselves with the knowledge and mastery to navigate our crazy human world together through the use of pattern games, body language recognition, start button behaviors, and so much more!

Our Set Up at BlueDog

We cap our classes at 4 students per round to optimize learning. Every dog and handler duo has their own “box” to work in to provide a predictable space to promote focus and relaxation. Your dog can enjoy a full enclosed box or given a partial view depending on his preference. As a team, you’ll dive into the world of pattern games, relaxation, and dog body language until you both achieve the calmness you desire. Both of you can find safety around triggers, acclimate to new environments, and build confidence working together.

The Process

Once you have sent in your CU application, our training director will be in touch to coordinate a complimentary 15 minute phone call with our Control Unleashed instructor, Nicole! The goal of this call is to give you the best recommendation for a pathway forward, whether that is group CU classes or working privately with Nicole to get a headstart. If classes are a good match but our current round is full, we’ll add you to the waitlist to be notified of the next class offering.

Prerequisites for Class

Because Control Unleashed classes focus on a subset of new skills, we do require a foundational knowledge and use of marker/clicker training. We also encourage dogs to have a “down” cue before joining classes. Control Unleashed uses only positive reinforcement methods via marker/clicker training.

Class Details

Over the 6 weeks of classes, you will:

• Learn new skills, behaviors, and pattern games
• Practice newly taught activities each week
• Gain access to homework video tutorials for practice in between classes
• Receive personalized feedback from Nicole when you submit homework videos

After Control Unleashed Foundations, students will be equipped with the knowledge to continue their practices at home within their every day lives. Some may advance to our Intermediate level of CU classes, or return to private training for more refinement. What lies ahead greatly depends on the time dedicated to your practices, and many other factors. Nicole will give her recommendation on the next best step for you and your dog once the round of classes is complete.
