We currently offer visits in Andover, MA and North Andover, MA
BlueDog offers 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 1 hour long visits. Our walkers perform a “door knob to door knob” timed service where their scheduled time begins when they unlock the door upon arrival, and ends when they lock the door after leaving. During this time, your walker may be suiting your dog up for their walk, refreshing water, playing training games, walking, and/or feeding. If you are looking for 30 minutes full of walking time, we suggest 45 minute visits.
30 Minute visits are $29 dollars each, or $27 each if scheduling 3 or more visits per week.
45 Minute visits are $39 dollars each, or $35 each if scheduling 3 or more visits per week.
1 hour visits are $48 dollars each, or $44 each if scheduling 3 or more visits per week.
*2 or more dogs are $4 extra per dog.
*Visits that are scheduled after 4pm incur an additional $6.
*Visits that are scheduled on weekends incur an additional $6 and are not guaranteed.
*Visits that are scheduled the same day they are needed incur an additional $10 if the walk can be filled.
*We do require a minimum of two visits per week, and offer a discount for 3 or more visits a week.
The first step is to fill out our dog walking inquiry form. This will gather the relevant information to see if we have a walker available to accommodate the schedule you are looking for, ensure you’re in our service area, and make sure BlueDog walking is a good fit. From there, our dog walking manager will reach out to coordinate a phone call for any additional information, and to work out a Meet n’ Greet. The Meet n’ Greet is at your home with your walker and our dog walking manager to meet you and your dog, and go over all of the information necessary to access your home and take care of your pup! After the Meet n’ Greet, you’ll be set up in the system we use called PetSitter Plus and your walking schedule will commence.
Our walkers are not trainers, however they have been taught a few games that they use as management! The difference between training and managing is application and lasting effects. Your walkers play games to help the visits go smoother, build a relationship with your dog, and encourage a routine. Training is more of a sustainable change to your dogs feelings and behaviors, and would involve their guardian keeping up with training. Once you’ve signed up for walks, our team will send you video tutorials of the games your walker is playing so you can join in on the fun!
Visits are scheduled through the portal we use called PetSitter Plus. Once you have signed up with BlueDog, you gain access to the portal log in. If you have a recurring schedule that is the same each week, no action is needed on your part after the initial Meet n’ Greet! If you need to cancel a walk, you can do so through your portal, or request additional visits/schedule change through the portal as well.
All visits are scheduled in time windows, typically 2 hours. This allows our walkers to complete all of their visits in timeframes rather than at specific times for efficiency and allows wiggle room for any adjustments needed. If you are scheduled for a 12-2 walk, your walker may arrive anytime between 12-2pm. While our walkers do their best to arrive at the middle of the time frame, their schedules can change or vary so we cannot guarantee a specific time for your walks. Our walkers aim to complete the majority of their visit within the time window.
At this time we do not offer group walks. Our goal is to build strong relationships between your pup and their walker, while also ensuring as positive a walk as possible for both the dogs and their two legged companions! However, if a walker has multiple dogs in the same neighborhood that get along, they may be walked together if the schedule aligns.
Because puppies joints are still forming they should only walk for short periods of time, 5 minutes for each month of life is a general guide (this can vary depending on breed). We recommend shorter, more frequent walks or activities. Within your visit time, your walker will take your puppy out, play with them, and bond through fun training games.
BlueDog highly regards the importance of freedom of movement for our dogs and a space to engage with their environments in a positive and safe way. To accomplish this, all of our walkers are provided with long lines and the training to manage longer leashes to give your dog the space to move at their own pace and perform all the sniffies they would like! A long line ensures the safety of your dog when walking out in public spaces like trails or fields, and gives our walkers the confidence to manage any situation out on their walks.
