Seasonal sports classes run every 6-7 weeks on Tuesday evenings at our Lawrence training facility in Stadium Plaza. With room for growth, we offer intro classes as well as intermediate and advanced levels. Our sport offerings include Rally, Tricks, and Scent Work. Sports classes require students from our membership classes to be in the Middle School or higher levels.
If you are new to BlueDog, we ask that you have a general knowledge of marker/clicker training, use positive reinforcement methods, and your dog does not display any reactivity, aggression, or disruptive behaviors like barking, lunging, and/or extensive pulling. Your dog must be able to relax in the classroom environment, and potentially hang out for extended periods of time while waiting for their turn to work. Having some general cues like sit, down, and/or heel would be helpful as well.
Class Set Up & Expectations
Our sports classes are generally capped to 4-6 students depending on experience levels. You can expect to work on some skills together as a class, and also practice individually in the middle of the room. Your dog may have some down time waiting for their turn, and will be working around other moving dogs within close proximity of each other.
Classes are full or already started! What can I do?
It is always our goal to have continued offerings for our sports classes. Generally, a new round will begin 1-2 weeks after the current round.
